8 healthy beauty tips to start using today that your body and face will thank you for. These eight simple healthy habits will make you feel great as well as look great.
1. Remove Your Makeup Before Sleep
I’m going to put this at number #1 as it’s such an important one. Always remove your makeup before going to bed and let your skin breathe overnight. If you’ve run out of makeup remover then try using olive oil on a cotton pad and gently massage the oil onto your face to get rid of any makeup and dirt.
Cleansing and moisturizing are important but exfoliation is an important extra step. Not only does exfoliation take off the dead skin, but can also make skin pores appear smaller. Find out what facial scrubs and exfoliating masks works best for you. For a quick alternative, use slices of lemon sprinkled with sugar.
For the body, try using a body scrub twice a week. Use a brush or loofah mitt to buff your skin in circular motions, making sure to not scrub too hard.
3. Drink More Water
Avoid dehydration by drinking water regularly throughout the day. Water is great for the skin, keeping our skin looking plumper and more lustrous. It also helps to clear up some of the fine lines that can be caused by dehydration.
Stay away from too much alcohol as this will also cause dehydration and even worse. Excessive alcohol can result in dilated pores, dilated and broken capillaries, as well as the overgrowth of sweat and oil glands.
4. Don’t Shampoo Every Day
Many women wash and shampoo their hair every day to avoid that nasty greasy feeling, but overwashing may actually make our hair greasier as our bodies overproduce oils to compensate.
Also, washing your hair every day depletes your scalp of the natural oils that make hair shiny and manageable. Instead, try shampooing every other day.
5. Don’t Pick at Your Pimples
Healthy beauty tips number #5 is something not to do, don’t pick. We all get them from time to time, the throbbing, red pimple. It’s okay though, as long as you don’t pick at them! Picking at your pimples can cause scarring and infection as your skin doesn’t go through the healing process properly.
6. Sleep Better
Sleep popped up on our Image Healthy page 10 Ways to Lose Lower Belly Fat as well, which was very surprising to me. Try to get 7 – 8 hours of sleep a night to help the body and our skin refresh and recover from the day’s activities.
The big one, exercise! It really does help us in so many ways that we could write pages and pages on the benefits of regular, healthy exercise. From helping with depression and anxiety to helping prevent serious health problems like heart disease and high blood pressure, exercise is so important.

8. Apply Sunscreen
Sun exposure can cause wrinkles, age spots, and even worse skin problems. If you are jogging or any outdoor activity, make sure to apply your sunscreen. This is especially true if you work outside or you are out for a lovely, sunny day at the beach.
